I am passionate about teaching economics through active learning that would connect abstract theories to real-world applications. I believe students master economic principles most effectively when they can relate concepts to their own experiences and contemporary issues. My approach would emphasize scaffolded learning, critical thinking, and practices that would accommodate diverse backgrounds and skill levels. I would integrate responsible use of emerging technologies like Generative AI while maintaining rigorous academic standards, and I would continuously refine my pedagogy through evidence-based teaching methods and student feedback. My ultimate goal would be to cultivate economically literate citizens who can think critically about policy debates and contribute meaningfully to society.

In June 2025, I successfully completed the CIRTL certification at the Associate level through Penn State University, Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence, and in September 2025, I received the Practitioner certificate. CIRTL — the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning — is a 45-university consortium that helps graduate students and postdocs learn how to teach college courses more effectively.
The Associate level establishes foundational knowledge in evidence-based and effective teaching through participation in workshops and learning communities focused on pedagogical best practices. The Practitioner level advances this foundation by requiring participants to design and implement a teaching-as-research project that applies evidence-based strategies to improve student learning in real classroom environments, or develop a viable syllabus for a potentially taught class.
